"Tri Sigma" by Anastasia Archuleta Rocha

There are many ways to get involved and spend your time productively here at the Metro campus. The one I am going to be talking about is a Sorority. The Sorority I will be talking about is called Sigma Sigma Sigma or Tri Sigma; I have been recently attending the Tri Sigma Recruitment nights this semester. They have their recruitment nights in the Tivoli usually around 7pm. I walked through the doors into a room full of bubbly girls. The first girl that I met was Sarah, she is the president, Sarah introduced herself as well as several other girls introduced themselves too, they were all really friendly. At every recruitment night they start with all of the sisters introducing themselves and say their chair if they have one. After that they ask us recruits to introduce ourselves and say a little about us.

They then talk about the GPA requirements; they also talk about their study nights to help keep your grades up. They then talk about their philanthropy, which is Children’s Hospital. They go and spend time with the sick kids, which in my opinion is great!!! The philanthropy is a great way to contribute to your community. On one of the recruitment nights we also made packages and card for some of the troops in Iraq.

Then they talked about the sisterly fun stuff! They do a whole bunch of things together such as ice skating, going to the metro basketball games, movies, retreats etc. In such a big school and campus being in a sorority is a great way to make new friends that can last a lifetime. The girls are great; they are so welcoming and really treat each other like sisters. They are a very encouraging bunch of girls as well. So if you are looking for a great college experience, be sure to check out the Metro Tri Sigma Chapter!
